the height of the water lines on the bridge supports does not match anything else in the harbor area, and it stands out....

A bit of a Critique: I like what you have done, however, a bridge like this many times would not be paved but get open Steel Decking so that Rain Water/Snow etc will "pass through" and or water from below (or fog) will not rise up and "soak" the Bridge and the pavement act like a "sponge." Movable bridges are balanced and many times the roads on either side are repaired/repaved, the added weight of layers of pavement on the movable span can put it out of balance which is why you often still see bridges with "open decks".....

Jason, I have been watching you do your magic almost a year now and you have inspired me to get out the paints again. I have a 12ft by 24ft building for my train layout but just not happy with the plastic buildings. I am going to try more paint, weathering and wood to a few of my building and see what happens, thank you for your videos and thank you for the inspiration.

Dave sent me an Amazon link for illustration board. I've asked the folks over at the crafts stores and they direct me to foam core and poster board and I know that's not what you're referring to. Can you help me out with this?

You should use roof shingles more often. They really add a lot of detail, and they are probably more period accurate than all the tar-paper.

Really cool work! Where do you find the scale models? I am doing a diorama of the scene of The Alamo compound of 1836 in a 10mm scale. So far I have had to make all items by scratch except for the 18 cannons. Thanks in advance!

I keep coming back to this video to refresh my memory on how to use black construction paper (I bought 2 packs) and some grey primer (I just got today) to make tar paper roofing. I've got a couple of buildings I've been wanting to use this method on. Thanks for all the great ideas. I use women's eye shadow makeup for my weathering powders as it sticks better than any powders you could ever use and it only costs $1.00 & comes in every color under the sun. Cheers from eastern TN

Jason, great video. I enjoyed watching it while having a cup of coffee. Great tip on using the old toothbrush to clean off the excess glue, it would work better than an old paint brush. The details in those kits at N Scale is amazing, and great colour tip on the details so they don't blend in, I will use that one. Thank you for sharing, cheers, and stay safe, Michael

$52 and $45 for the kits. Nice looking structures but too much for us budget model railroaders. Looks like a trip to Hobby Lobby for me to buy a few sticks of wood and a pad of Bristol board. How about doing a scratch budget series.

It would be interesting to learn how a small independent producer of model kits makes the magic happen. How is the model designed? Prototype created? How many kits are made in a “run” of production? How are kits priced? Since you build and create, you’re the perfect person to share your thoughts.
